Chart checker

Paint or paste your own colourwork chart and see at once whether it works: floats that are too long, rows with too many colours, a repeat that does not fit, mosaic stitches that stack. Red needs fixing, yellow needs care, and each problem comes with a fix.

Knitting alphabet & name chart generator

Type a name or a year and get a knitting chart centred in your stitch count. It counts the floats for Fair Isle, the bobbins for intarsia and the stitches for duplicate stitch, and shows how the letters look knitted.

Which one do I need?

Start from what you're making.

I want a name on a Christmas stocking

Use the stocking designer. It charts the name, centres it on the front and writes the rest of the stocking around it.

I have my own pattern and just need the letters

Use the knitting alphabet chart generator. Enter your stitch count and the name is centred in it. It also prints a full A–Z and 0–9 chart.

I crochet and want a name on a blanket

Use the crochet letter graph generator and pick C2C. Enter the blanket's width in tiles and every row comes written out.

I drew my own chart. Will it knit?

Put it in the chart checker. It marks floats that are too long, rows with too many colours and, for mosaic crochet, stitches that can't stack, with the row, the stitch and a fix for each.

I'm new to colourwork. Where do I start?

Pick something small with two colours. The reindeer beanie uses two colours in every round and marks every long float for you. If knitting two colours at once feels like too much, knit the stocking plain and embroider the name on afterwards with duplicate stitch.

How do you check the numbers?

Every tool and pattern runs on one engine with the same rules. Here is how it checks a pattern, with real examples.
